BIOHEAT® FUEL

Q. What is the difference between Bioheat® Fuel and the heating fuel I am using now?
A: Bioheat Fuel is a blend of ultra-low sulfur heating oil (ULSHO) and biodiesel, a 100% renewable fuel made from inedible vegetable oils (such as soybeans), animal fat, or recycled cooking greases. Rigorously tested to ensure quality, cleaner-burning Bioheat offers the same “warm” heat produced by traditional heating oil but with fewer emissions.

Q. Will my existing oil heating system be able to use Bioheat?
A: Yes! Bioheat is fully compatible with your existing oil heating system; no upgrades will be needed.

Q. Will Main-Care Energy’s transition to Bioheat cost me extra money? Is it more expensive than traditional heating fuel?
A: It might sound too good to be true, but Bioheat burns so cleanly and efficiently, you may use less heating fuel, saving you money while also helping protect our environment. What’s more, the transition to Bioheat will result in no additional costs to our customers; the price per gallon is the same as traditional heating oil.
