Inside the clear tube is a float that rises and falls with the fuel level, just like the needle on your car’s gas gauge. The markings read F, ¾, ½ and ¼ to show how much oil you have left. When that float dips close to the ¼ mark, it’s your cue to call for a delivery before you run low.
