Our History

The story of Main-Care Energy begins with Art Main, who in 1930 hitched a 275-gallon tank to his flatbed truck and delivered kerosene to his neighbors. Joined soon after that by his brother Spencer, they formed Main Brothers Oil Company.

In the nearly 30 years that followed, Main Brothers Oil earned a reputation for dependable heating fuel delivery and friendly, personal service that households and businesses could count on every day of the year. It was a dedication to service that our company maintains today.

In 1957, the Main family passed the company on to its employees. Today, Main-Care Energy is 100% employee-owned. We deliver propane, diesel, gasoline and eco-friendly Bioheat® fuel. Main-Care Energy provides equipment services for oil and gas-fired heating equipment, generators, air conditioning, water heaters and a range of other residential and commercial products.

While we continue to grow and evolve, Main-Care Energy and our family of employee-owners remain committed to providing outstanding home comfort services in the New York Capital Region, the Hudson Valley, Western Vermont and Western Massachusetts.
