When You Call Main-Care Energy, You Can Expect 360° of Service.

hvac Washington County, NY Your HVAC system is one of the biggest investments you make in your house. Taking care of it is important — both to protect your investment and to keep your home and family comfortable. There are steps you can do on your own, such as changing or cleaning air filters regularly, but for everyone besides a licensed HVAC technician, performing a tune-up on a home heating system is not a DIY project. (And most equipment warranties require professional maintenance to stay valid.)

But what’s involved, and what should you expect when you schedule a service call for your HVAC? The goal is to make sure your systems are running properly and efficiently. When you call Main-Care Energy for service, you can expect one of our expert owner-employees to arrive on time and get the job done precisely while treating you and your home with respect. Here’s what we’ll be doing:

Your Multi-Point HVAC Tune-up

Looking for a dedicated, highly-trained team that can safeguard your HVAC system’s efficiency and reliability for years to come? Main-Care Energy is the one and only partner you need. Here’s a rundown of what we do on our multi-point HVAC tune-up:

  1. We brush out and vacuum clean all flue passageways.
  2. Our technicians take down all venting, inspect the integrity of the pipe and replace it if necessary.
  3. The Main-Care Energy team inspects all chimney bases for blockages and, if possible, looks up the chimney with a mirror to inspect for blockages.
  4. We apply cement or AP Green Fireclay around the vent pipe at the entrance of the chimney.
  5. For oil-heat systems, our technicians inspect the inside oil tank for proper fill and venting and assess the integrity of the tank when oil is the fuel.
  6. The Main-Care Energy team observes pressures on the boiler during combustion testing on all boilers with expansion tanks. If there is any increase in pressure, we drain down the expansion tank, indicating there is no air cushion in the tank.
  7. Our technicians also inspect blower wheels on burners for dirt buildup.

You can count on us to clean or replace any parts that have become dirty or worn down, like oil filters, fuel pump screens, air filters, belts, thermocouples, etc. We also have a particular focus on safety, performing combustion efficiency tests, checking your equipment’s safety controls and looking for the presence of smoke or carbon dioxide.

Once service is complete, our tech will review your system’s condition and explain any issues they found or took care of. If they discover any larger issues, they’ll explain your repair options. They’ll also offer maintenance tips and can make suggestions for upgrades to improve your home’s comfort and efficiency if you want more information.
